Effective March 18, 2016, NOAA Fisheries will implement a federal moratorium on fishing, possession, and landing of American eel in Delaware waters.
The moratorium is required by the Atlantic Coastal Fisheries Cooperative Management Act in response to the determination that the State of Delaware is out of compliance with the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission’s Plan for American Eel.
