Members of the Champlain Fish and Wildlife Management Cooperative, a working group of fisheries professionals from the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) , and Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department (VFWD), will host a ‘State of the Lake Fisheries’ meeting.
The 2025 meeting will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert Miller Community & Recreation Center (Community Room), 130 Gosse Court, Burlington, VT 05408.
The public meeting is open for anglers and other individuals interested in the fisheries of Lake Champlain. Registration is not required.
During the meeting, managers will provide updates on the status and trends of the fisheries in Lake Champlain and receive input from anglers and other stakeholders.
Information will be provided on restoration, research, assessment, and other accomplishments in the past year, as well as work planned for the coming year, with time provided for questions from attendees.
Discussions will include information about lake trout, landlocked Atlantic salmon, sea lamprey, and walleye.
Recorded presentations will be available approximately one month following the meeting on the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department’s YouTube channel.
The Lake Champlain Fish and Wildlife Management Cooperative (Cooperative) was organized in 1972 by the directors of the fish and wildlife agencies of Vermont and New York and the Northeast Region of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
